What Guests Are Saying
Chilhowee Campground is praised for its beautiful natural setting, well-maintained facilities, and friendly camp hosts, making it a favorite for repeat visitors. The campground features clean bathrooms, spacious sites, and a lovely lake for swimming, along with access to hiking trails, including the popular Benton Falls. While the access road is narrow and winding, and some areas may appear dated, the overall experience is highly recommended for those seeking a peaceful camping getaway.

We reserved 4 sites all together for tent camping. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect set up. Electricity at each site, bathrooms close by, lake a short walk away and even a stream running through the sites for the kids to play in. Enjoyed hiking to the falls and kayaking in the lake. Would stay here again!

We loved this campground. It was very clean and quiet. The campsites are large and well maintained. There are also numerous hikes and well maintained trails. We will definitely go back.

Very pretty area - but unfortunately many people litter and use the mountain for partying. Not the campground, but on the road leading in, in the national forest, we picked up 5 large bags of trash on the side of the road. Beer cans, 12 pack boxes litter the 8 mile road going in. Graffiti on national park rocks, gazebo, historic signs.

Campground was clean, sites were well spaced apart, paved roads, clean bathrooms with excellent water pressure in the shower.
Enjoyed being able to walk to trails and hike to water falls.
Campground hosts were available, friendly and very attentive.

It rained the whole time but it was still a great vacation! The bath house was clean. The hosts were attentive. We will definitely be back to enjoy the mountain more.
The only con were the confusing directions. Took 2 hours to get to camp. The original directions would’ve gotten us there in about 20 minutes. The app was the issue, not the campground.

This was a great campground for our family camping trip. We had six kids total and two camp sites and it was a great for the kids to play and explore. We had easy access to the restrooms/showers. The hike to Benton Falls was fantastic and a must do!
