What Guests Are Saying
Thunder Rock Campground features friendly and helpful hosts, a clean bathhouse, and a great location for outdoor activities like paddling and biking. Many campers appreciate the serene atmosphere by the Ocoee River, with well-maintained sites and good facilities. However, some sites may flood during heavy rain, and there are occasional issues with road noise and amenities like hand soap in the bathrooms that could be improved.

This is a wonderful campsite that could benefit tremendously from modest budget increases for maintenance and development

The godawful noise from heavy commercial trucks accelerating and braking through the turns on the highway through the gorge was the most noteworthy thing compared to other FS campgrounds. It was occasional during the night and continuous in the morning starting before dawn.

Great location, easy access to the river and the bike trails. Hot shower an added bonus!

I have enjoyed every stay at this campground. It is close to many activities that I enjoy. The camp host does a great job.

We have spent many short vacations at Thunder Rock, but this year was the first time we brought our 3 and 6 year olds with us. They had the best time watching the river run and playing in it when it was low. The bathrooms are always very clean and the campground is well taken care of. This is our number one pick of places to camp in Ocoee.
