What Guests Are Saying
Thunder Rock Campground features friendly and helpful hosts, a clean bathhouse, and a great location for outdoor activities like paddling and biking. Many campers appreciate the serene atmosphere by the Ocoee River, with well-maintained sites and good facilities. However, some sites may flood during heavy rain, and there are occasional issues with road noise and amenities like hand soap in the bathrooms that could be improved.

I don’t understand why the campsite was a modest $15 (group tent site) but then an additional 8$ to make an online reservation.

Our campsite flooded! Nothing like pitching a tent in 2 inches of rainwater. Site #15 in the rain is bad, drainage system definitely needs improvement. Fortunately we were able to evacuate to our friend’s site at #18 as it wasn’t flooding. It was unfortunate however, to pack everything up again in the rain and move our shelter.
The bath house was a highlight despite the flooding of our site. It was warm and clean, and that is such a pleasure when riding bikes and camping in the rain in January.

Thunder Rock is not fancy. One site has power. But for a quiet, isolated spot near the river, it is great! We have stayed several times, and we are from NJ.

this location never has hand soap at the bathroom sink. im guessing its to keep people from washing at the sink. still its important for public health for there to be hand soap there.

Had an excellent time staying here! Went right around halloween and the trees were beautiful. The campground was very well kept and spacious. The host came by to check on us each day, and he even let me borrow his axe to split some firewood. I will definitely be coming back!
