What Guests Are Saying
Thunder Rock Campground features friendly and helpful hosts, a clean bathhouse, and a great location for outdoor activities like paddling and biking. Many campers appreciate the serene atmosphere by the Ocoee River, with well-maintained sites and good facilities. However, some sites may flood during heavy rain, and there are occasional issues with road noise and amenities like hand soap in the bathrooms that could be improved.

Great site, very clean area. Friendly staff. Over all quiet. Our campsite was on the river. The highway was loader than the river unfortunately, but still a great site. Verizon had zero service.

Thunder Rock is perfectly located for whitewater kayaking, mountain biking, fly fishing, and hiking. The campground hosts are exceptionally. Dave kept us all informed and insured the quiet enjoyment of our stay, which maximized our experience.

Love the Ocoee River and surrounding trails. The Campground Host were great. I have never used a Vaulted Toilet that was so clean. Look forward to my next visit.

We stayed in campsite 12 at Thunder Rock. Our site was directly on the river and well shaded, which made it very pleasant. The campground was well maintained, clean and the campground host was friendly. Our only negative thought was proximity to the power plant; you are literally staying next to it.

We camped in spot #10 by the creek. the river/creek is controlled by a dam so at times it is high and fast flowing and in the evening it lowered and stopped flowing completely. My kids were able to get in and float when it was stopped, but it would be too fast to swim if flowing. There is definite road noise even by the creek. Showers/bathrooms were much better than I anticipated after reading so many bad reviews. Everything seemed pretty clean.
