Love camping at thunder rock, but the road needs to be paved throughout the campground.

I actually drove on roads in Afghanistan that were better maintained. The pot holes were so numerous and deep that my 18 in clearance actually dragged. Now when I got to the camp site after traversing the caverns the site needed to be patrolled "no big issue there". The 3 ft tall grass and weeds in the small common area around the trash can gave a great place for a multitude of insects to thrive. There was a 4 inch Tarantula guarding the men's bath house and that was about the only thing in the bath house besides dirt. There was no toilet paper at any toilet in the camp ground for 3 of the 5 nights we stayed. As far as sleeping goes, one night a group of campers partied with loud music until 2 am.... It was quiet each night after if you don't mind Jake brakes , Harleys, and hopped up car mufflers running up the hwy all night. Other than that, hey it is a great place to go camping and rafting in recycled waste water.

Campground location was great! Could not locate my campsite, ended up in one that had the right number but the plaque had been torn down, I found it lying on the ground. My name was not on the reservation spot on the plaque, and I could not locate the camp host to sort things out. I took the spot and had no issues other than that, but slept with one eye open expecting someone to come by and tell me I was in the wrong place.

Great location! Lots of hiking trails to explore right from the campground and whitewater rafting just a few minutes away.

This was a nice overnight campground for us as we were traveling through. Quite and easy check in.

Excellent campground, very nice sites. Be sure to bring a tight fitting PFD. The Caney Creek runs along the side of the campground from the generator till where it becomes part of the Ocoee. You can jump into the (extremely fast and cold) Creek and swim out about 300 yards down at the boat ramp. It's a ton of fun, but requires a PFD (not only required by law but also extremely recommended). Bathrooms weren't the cleanest, but they had flushing toilets and hot showers (more then enough if you ask me). Excellent location if you're coming to kayak or raft the Ocoee. Highly recommend spending some time in Copper Hill, TN and Blue Ridge, GA. Both less than 30ish minutes from the campground.

We arrived after dark unfortunately( and it was raining unfortunately. And someone was parked in our spot unfortunately. I could see a person in the car asleep so I carefully approached it and knocked on his hood and shined the light on myself so that he could see that I was not being aggressive. He had pulled in to sleep overnight and didn't set up anything because of the rain. The post at my campsite must have blown off in the rain. The good news was I had printed my receipt and I had it there to show him and within a couple of minutes he found my reservation on the ground. He politely moved in without any fussing. So… It was a great campsite. The walk to The bathroom was not far. Had it been good weather, it would've been a nice shady site. Overall I liked the stay and would come back.

We have been camping here since 2012 and while the campground itself is beautiful and quiet, the facilities are in poor condition. We arrived on Monday and left the following Thursday, we never saw the camp hosts or a park ranger (which we always have in the past) the female bathroom lights were burned out over the sinks, several of the camp sites were missing their numbered markings, and although we had reserved our site 12 days in advance it was not marked stating such so anyone could've taken it. The many many deep potholes in the campground road were ridiculous!!
Why is no one maintaining the biking trails? Several trees are down blocking the paths and limbs sticking out that could seriously injure someone.

Nice campsite. Clean restrooms and showers. Way too much road noise from nearby highway.
