About Defeated Creek Park

Defeated Creek Park Campground sits along the banks of Cordell Hull Lake on the Cumberland River System, just seven miles from Carthage, Tennessee. The lake was named after Cordell Hull, a politician that was born in the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains. We were greeted by a friendly, smiling lady that welcomed us and thanked us for coming. Restrooms/bath houses were exceptionally clean and well taken care of, as were the grounds. Love it!

Absolutely loved our stay at this campground! The area is peaceful, clean, and beautifully maintained. The staff is super friendly and helpful — they go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. The sites are spacious, the restrooms and showers are spotless, and there’s plenty of room for kids or pets to enjoy. It has a marina, tenis court, basketball court, beach looking access to swin with the kiddos, plenty of parks. We especially loved sitting by the campfire under the stars — such a relaxing and cozy atmosphere. Perfect spot for a weekend getaway or family trip. Highly recommend! 🌲⛺️

Beautiful COE. Great family location. Many things to do. Marina, designated swimming area, playgrounds, basketball, pickleball, and volleyball. Many spacious camping areas. We were in site 50 and had a great view of the lake. This site didn’t have sewer hookup and parking area wasn’t as wide as some others but had a great view as it was higher than most others and plenty of grass around. Definitely will stay again.

This is an amazing place. We call it our summer home by the lake. Always have a great time.
