Very Nice Campground and hard to get into. We took a chance and came to check it out and were able to snag a site on the water for 2 nights! Very nice host and one of the nicest campgrounds we have ever stayed at. Way to go COE! Has a bike and walking trail, loads of stuff for the kids, sites are spaced well. We see why this park stays booked. Located about 1We 5 mins from town of Carthage which is a town that has that southern charm. You have bike trails, walking trails. fishing, relaxing and church service in the large pavilion on Sunday - what more could you ask for!!!!

I was disappointed in the grass being so high and our fire pit had garbage and cigarettes in it. We have been camping here for 6 years and probably 12 -15 times throughout that period. Never seen the grass so high and always saw the workers driving through and cleaning out sites before next visitor. Didn't see anyone cleaning out fire pits. We have always bragged about Defeated Creek being one of the CLEANEST AND BEST MAINTAINED campground we have ever gone to. Just wanted management to know this. Thank you

There needs to be a little upkeep on the place . limbs broken and being supported by other limbs just waiting to fall . These are over campsites and non campsites . One of these fell on our camper while we were on site 115 , this stay with a little damage to our roof . And the same happened to other campers while we were there . I know you cannot anticipate when limbs break or trees fall but when they are already broken and hanging and / or dead , it would be good to take care of those . Thanks

Most Lots are shaded and a great park for water activities like Boating/Fishing & Kayaking. Best thing I liked was watching the ABUNDANCE of Deer all over the park :-)

This is our favorite campground. It is always clean and quiet. The hosts are friendly and helpful. Although The WIFI is horrible.
