Cosby Campground is a beautifully maintained and serene location in the Smoky Mountains, offering spacious campsites, clean restrooms, and easy access to hiking trails. Campers appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, helpful staff, and the campground's natural beauty, making it a favorite for many. While there are some concerns about noise and bathroom facilities, overall, visitors highly recommend the campground for a relaxing outdoor experience.

We were there early in the season on purpose - little traffic and lots of firewood. Bathrooms were clean, just no hot water. The almost backcountry feel and many trails is why we go. have been for decades.

This is my favorite campground in the Smokies bc it is relatively undiscovered. However, it has gone downhill somewhat, which is surprising bc now we all have to pay for parking passes. There is no soap in any of the campground bathrooms which is gross. It looks all the soap dispensers have been removed but never replaced. No paper towels or hand dryers either. Also, now to use the only covered picnic pavilion (immediately outside the campground) when it rains, you have to buy a parking pass. It seems like the campers should be able to use it for free since there are no covered picnic tables inside the campground. Finally, the poison ivy has been allowed to run rampant. The majority of the campsites have poison ivy growing right in them. It would be very easy to get into it in the dark or if you don’t know what it looks like. Overall not very well taken care of anymore, and for $30 a night, I’m not sure what you are getting honestly.

I enjoyed tent camping at Cosby Campground. It was quiet and pleasant; the restrooms were kept clean. I enjoyed hiking on nearby trails.

A beautiful campground with the sound of Cosby Creek always in the background. The nature trail is surprisingly good, and there are several good trails leading out from the campground. It was quiet during our week in April, few bugs, and good weather. Great wildflowers on most of the trails. This area is quieter and more remote than Elkmont. Only small RVs will fit in the sites, which helps keep the noise down.

Great, spacious, campsites. Peaceful. Shaded sites. So many hiking trails available from the campgrounds, including connection to the Appalachian Trail. Close to Visitor center, Gatlinburg, Asheville, and other popular locations.

The campground was very nice and the weather was gorgeous. That was the problem that kept me from giving the trip and excellent. We are used to having a very empty campground on that last weekend. One year there were only three sites in use of the 132 available, and that included the campground host. Of course ,it had snowed some earlier that week. This year, with sunshine and temps in the 70's there were lots and lots of campers. Oh well, maybe it will sleet next year. :-)

The camp sites were spacious and not as close together as the other campgrounds in the park. Lots of trees in every site. Plenty of trailheads in the area. Beautiful nature trail right at the entrance.

Loved every day spent at Cosby Campground. This location is a little bit of a distance from the heart of the Smokeys, but that doesn't take anything away from how great it is. The staff and campground hosts were amazing, and the layout of this campground was absolutely great. There are trails right there surrounding the camp that you can easily hike to right from your tent or RV. The creek running right next to the road on the drive up is beautiful as well as the waterfall and surrounding views from all around. A wonderful stay that I would absolutely do again!

This campground was so nice to stay at, so beautiful and peaceful. We loved all of the trees because the leaves were changing and falling throughout our entire stay. Campsites and bathrooms were clean and I would definitely come back again.
