Campers appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, helpful staff, and the campground's natural beauty, making it a favorite for many. Cosby is absolutely gorgeous. A few things - no showers and read the fine print on where your trails start if you are going hiking.

Mtn. Laurel was still in bloom and a couple other wildflowers so got some nice floral pictures. It was a bit too hazy at the overlook that day for good photos of the mountains.
We got some nice pictures of wildlife right from the backside of our site which is all wooded. Deer, Turkey, and a Bear and her two cubs. One turkey walked right into our site and wandered around for a bit. I was talking to it, like I had a pet turkey, haha.
All in all we enjoyed our trip but won't return on Father's Day weekend when the campground is so crowded and noisy.

We had a great stay at the Cosby campgrounds. No cell service there which was liberating. I felt like many of the sites were right on top of each other, but aside from that, the grounds were clean and well maintained. Bathrooms were very clean and ratios per site count was great. The trails and creeks were beautiful and the kids also just loved riding their bikes up and down the driveway all day and night. Outside of a few cars coming through pretty quick, most drivers were cautious it felt extremely safe for the kiddos to play. The blue ghost fireflies were out every night and put in an amazing show.
Fantastic Father’s Day weekend.
We will definitely be back again soon!

Cosy is a hidden gem as some have commented before. It is secluded and was not crowded, because (maybe) we stayed during weekdays. Site 34 was nice and level. Same as other Cosby campgrounds where there is a small area by the road where you would park your RV/trailer (RV sites). We had a pop-up trailer and had no issues parking. The tent area was nice and level. You need to climb steps to get to the tent area as Cosby campground is hilly. Some parking areas are not as level (site 48 in B loop), but it is not too bad. We have camped at Elkmont before, which is nice - but was bit crowded. We would definitely come back to Cosby campground again.

The campground itself is fantastic, and being off the grid is great. However I do understand about bears and people not paying attention and leaving things around that will make bears less fearful of humans but it was a major inconvenience having to put everything in the car to contain it from the Bears. Was not even allowed to leave out gallon water jugs according to their specifications. According to them you were expected to immediately put everything away once you’re done using it. It was a little over the top so to speak but we played by the rules.

Loved our time at cosby. Had 3 kids under 9 camping. They loved playing at the stream at the end of the nature trail and start of the trail to the overlook. Hike to hen wallow falls was challenging but we made it. Drove 25 min to the midnight hole hike and swimming hole for lots of fun!
