This campsite is great because you get a decent amount of space between campsites. The sites are clean and neat. There are plenty of bathrooms. I enjoyed being here.

What's not to love about Cosby Campground? It's one of GSMNP's "hidden" treasures. Yes, people know about it, but it's just enough off the beaten path to make people feel comfortable and enjoy nature's bounty at the same time. We are incredibly blessed to live just a scant few miles from the campground, so we come often and have never been disappointed. And the beautiful trails that pass through this area or begin there, they are a bonus worth writing home about. The selfish part of me wants this jewel to stay a hidden treasure, but the altruistic and generous part of me is glad to share it with "outlanders."

Same story here as all other GSM campgrounds…. What could be spectacular is ruined by the 10% of people sitting inside RVs while running a generator outside. It absolutely ruins the experience. We left early.

Overall it's a great campground. I love that you can get on a trail almost straight from your campsite. Beautiful forest and streams everywhere.
Unfortunately, there is always the camper from hell, the unwanted hair on the soup, that had to bring two untrained Rottweiler and a very loud external generator. They were located by the bathroom, the dogs were chained to trees, so whenever someone walked on the path to the bathroom, the dogs would go nuts barking, followed by the owner's yelling at the dogs on top of his very loud generator. It just amazes me that one person can be allowed to ruin everyone's camping experience with so much noise. Of the 50 or so campers, most were tent campers and everyone had figured out how to enjoy nature peacefully except for that guy. There are KOAs for this type of campers that can't figure out life without a loud generator. My husband has a CPAP and we equipped ourselves with a small 300w solar power bank, no noise needed.
I really hope that campsite managers will figure out a way to weed out this kind of noise makers in the future. That's the last thing we wanted to experience after driving 11 hours to get to Cosby.

Beautiful campsite! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Be careful of bears! We were lucky to see a black bear cub on the way to the campsite! Awesome trip!

Nice campground but not many sites for travel trailers or RV. Mostly tent sites. No electricity or water but many hiking trails. Very peaceful and beautiful scenery.
