Abram's Creek Campground

Sites are quiet and close to creek.
A little out of the way but hey that's why you go camping in the first place. Good back trail entrance to Cades Cove and if motorcycling is your thing the Dragon is only 15-20 minutes away

I loved Abrams Creek.My daughter spent her time in the creek.It was nice to see or access the creek from anywhere in the campground.
There was only a few things wrong that people should be aware of.
Due to space issues along the creek some sites were really small and went straight into the creek.
Other sites were on top of each other which is ideal for families camping together.
The bathrooms are an uphill walk so be warned.
I don't know how you check this beforehand but while we were there (July 2022) there was a huge problem with daddy long leg spiders.

Few amenities and no service (which we knew ahead of time). The bathrooms were never cleaned and it would have been helpful if the trail map had distances on it.

This campground is a hidden gem. It's small, remote, and magical. The campground is right on Abram's Creek, and even if you don't have a campsite that is on the creek, there is really nice creek access just off the trailhead at the end of the loop. Come prepared to be isolated once you are there. Can confirm there is no cell phone service in the park and the ranger station is not staffed regularly. So I would highly recommend calling in advance if you have any questions. If we didn't live over 8 hours away, we would come every year for an unplugged retreat!

We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night. The campsite was clean and the bathroom never ran out of toilet paper. The soap did run out but we had brought our own so that wasn't an issue. There is a sink to wash dishes by the bathroom. Bear safe box for food and bear safe trash cans are provided. Lots of hiking trails to explore and the creek was a great way to cool down. We saw snakes, an alligator snapping turtle, some crawfish and a sweet green frog! The sites were a bit close but all in all a nice place to relax.

Very nice primitive campground

Unless there's a large group, this campground is soooo quiet and peaceful. Bigger groups seem to be loud and rowdy, and the campground echos with their noise. Unfortunately, there were three loud groups at the same time we stayed; but fortunately, they only stayed one night. Otherwise, beautiful setting by the creek (resembles a river because it's very wide and deep in areas), and easy access to several trails. Tubes and floats are fun to use in sections. But please be courteous if someone is on the water before you and they're fishing. Almost everyone on a float seemed to have no clue or common sense to be respectful of those fishing; what gives? pretty frustrating. The 5-mile trek from the campground to Abrams Falls is moderate to strenuous, so be prepared with food and water since you'll be out for many hours. There's no cell service, and no concession area for things like ice or firewood (like Elkmont, etc). Overall, an amazing place to camp compared to the other crowded Smoky Mountain campgrounds.

This site was very secluded, only about 16 campsites so you feel more in nature. The trails lead to beautiful views.

I loved it - peaceful and relaxing!

Only reason I gave it 4 stars was because I wish they had showers other than that, it’s an amazing peaceful campground!!
