Camped 2 nights on September 19. We are a family of four from Costa Rica. First time visit to TGSM. Our experience was really good. September weather and nature is somewhat similar to some places in our country. Restrooms were very clean, and park rangers visited daily to clean and to move the trash. There was only one bear box to store food in, but we were the only ones using it, although there were other families in the campground. We reserved 2 sites, number 4 and 12. We arrived at 12 afternoon and the sites were reserved for us. When planning our visit, I was concerned that the campsites were small, and to follow rules, and not pitch the tent outside the designated camp path, is why I reserved the 2 sites. Made a good decision because 2 tents (ours are small 2 person tents) would not fit in only one camp site. Site 12 is near the restroom, and below some trees. The tent path should be improved to better drain water as a puddle of water appeared after heavy rain and this affected one of the tents as water entered inside it. We did not had this problem in site 4. Site 4 is near the creek and mosquitos can be a problem, so keep that in mind and maintain your tent closed at all times. Overall we had a great experience although it rained on us during our first day. On the second day, my son and I hiked to camp site 17, and my wife and daughter stayed at site 12, and they enjoyed their stay. Trail head for site 17 is near the campground which made it convenient for what we had planed. Suggest to improve the drain capacity on site 12 and figure a way to improve access to the campground as the entry road fits only one vehicle. A couple of times when we drove there we had to put reverse to allow the other car to pass, or hope for the other driver to do the same and allow us to pass first. Chose this campground because is not crowded and is more secluded, which makes it great in the current pandemic. Visit our YouTube channel, Ticofam, for videos of our visit.

This camp ground is AMAZING it's so beautiful and peaceful. Of course there was a few people who decided it was okay to be loud AF but luckily they were only there for a night. It is SOOOOOOO beautiful. The creek is amazing I just wished I would have realized that there were trails right there. It is a little far away from the rest of the park but the drive is unbeatable so it was worth it. I can't wait to go back!!!!

Love this place! Site A2 was neat and well maintained. Bathrooms were well-stocked and clean. Access to creek provided excellent fishing opportunities. Downside: got yelled at by neighboring camper for being in her site I didn't think I was (the sites are on top of one another).

The road to get in was kind of intense for me being from the midwest, but that was half the fun. Super quaint and quiet dwelling nestled into the Smokies. Being located on the creek was amazing. I would stay here again for sure.

Loved our stay here! There are beautiful hikes in the area and it was so nice staying near a creek that we could swim in when it got too hot. Would stay here again!
