We loved our stay at Abram's Creek- it was actually our first time camping in a National Park. The one-lane road back to the campsite was a bit nerve wracking, as we thought for sure we'd end up meeting another car, but thankfully never had an issue. Plan to have your firewood picked up on the way in. We got set up and then ventured out to buy heat treated firewood, but had no cell reception so we ended up accidentally finding the Tail of the Dragon, which is very close by. The parkway that runs parallel to the main road leading to the campground is absolutely beautiful and worth the drive! Our campsite was rather spacious with a flat pad to set up our large tent. The fire ring is a bit close to the sidewalk which leads up to the wash basin and bathrooms, so there was quite a bit of foot traffic directly next to us. Since the campground only has 16 sites, it's not a huge nuisance. The hiking trails that are available to you without having to drive to another trail head are wonderful! We ended up crossing the creek twice, barefoot. We made a loop hike that ended up being just under 9 miles, completed in 5.5 hours. The views were gorgeous and our timing the second weekend in October made for the perfect fall color palette. We loved the Great Smoky Mountains and will definitely be back to this area!

Great location, very remote and peaceful. We stayed in campsite 8 right by the river. There are bathrooms, a sink to wash dishes, and garbage bins. Bring your own supplies firewood, food etc. It's a long way back to town to purchase any items as there are no stores nearby. You can pick up branches and wood on the trails, but you don't want to rely on that especially if it's raining. There is a grate on the fire pit for cooking so that was really nice. Only disappointment was that river was extremely low and we only saw one small fish during our stay. We would definitely be back.

Awesome spot, tent sites right on the river. Bathrooms were not very clean, but not the dirtiest I’ve ever been in

The site was beautiful and seemed well maintained. My only hesitation in giving five stars in the state of the restroom. A little funky and underlit. Thanks

Nice quiet little campground nestled into the mountains with a picturesque creek running through. Very nice dimple place to spend time.
