Perfect setting. Out in the forest in a secluded area and enough people camping there that it felt safe.

For this to be a “bear country” NP and campground why doesn’t each site have a bear box??? We camp at a lot of NPS with much smaller bear populations and they all have a bear box at each campsite. If you really want to protect the bears as well as the humans you need to install bear boxes at every site. Also the “dish washing sink” was completely useless and always filled with spiders. It felt like Abrams Creek campground was the Campground that has been forgotten by Smoky Mountain national park. There was no camp host or park ranger presence at all with no cell phone reception. The people that we next to us at campsite 15 came in after quiet hours and took two hours setting up being extremely loud and using bright lights. This should not be allowed. The campsite was very loud and obviously was not monitored by park rangers. You need to start charging admission fees so you can better find this park. The fact that we had to pay for Jr Ranger program books was horrible. This park and this campsite has been the worst National Park experience we have ever had.

We had an awesome time at Abrams Creek! Even with a full campground over memorial day weekend, no one was terribly loud. The bathrooms were clean. Definitely don't skip making the trek to Abrams Creek! There are a lot of trails that intersect there so be careful to know what you're getting into. Looking forward to returning to the Smokies !

The campground was very nice. It was quiet and peaceful. It would have been nice to have heat treated firewood available for purchase at the campground.

I stayed in campsite 10. There is a tree between campsite 10 and 11 that is dead and needs to be removed for safety.

The site is primitive so we had expectations of not having showers but the restrooms are decent. It's right on the creek and the campground is quiet and peaceful. Because it's bear territory you will need to pack up food and trash per the guidelines. We will definitely continue to camp here with our family.

Abrams Creek is a quaint campground. Camping along the creek is lovely. For dinner check out Peaceful Side brewery and craft kitchen nearby.
