Wonderful sites. There are several water fill stations. The only downside is there is no dumpstation for Blackwater tanks.

Small, generally quiet with great campground host. Vault toilets could use a little help.

Paint Creek is one of my favorite places to stay. The campground host, Bill, is great and super friendly. He is one of the best features of the campground! Many of the campsites are right along the river, Bill takes great care of all the sites, constantly walks around and says hi! If you are new, it won't take him long to find you and welcome you. If you are a repeat customer, he goes out of his way to extend a warm greeting and make you feel right at home. We all look forward to seeing him and his wife every time we visit. If you are around the Hotsprings or Greeneville area and want to camp, this is the place.

Great campsite a s beautiful in the fall. I will say spot 16 can get pretty smelly cause its behind the bathrooms, so keep that in mind!! After we go the fire going we couldn’t smell anything.

We had a great time and enjoyed our stay. The campground is in great shape and was very peaceful. The Host was great and he really cares about the campground and the Guests. He is the best host I have ever been around and was readily available if needed. We will be back.

I was on a solo motorcycle trip called the Southeast Backcountry Discovery Route. The SEBDR passes through multiple National Forests including the Cherokee National Forest and Paint Creek Campground. The hosts Bill and Pam were friendly and knowledgeable. This is a popular campground for families. There were many campers that had been coming to Paint Creek for many years. Each morning a whole crew of campers and locals came to Bill and Pam’s for coffee and breakfast.
I would recommend taking a ride up to the Rich Mountain Fire Tower. The road could be a challenge for some vehicles, but great on a dual sport motorcycle, truck or SUV.
There is no cell service at this campground. I have a satellite communication device that worked perfectly.
I highly recommend Paint Creek Campground and plan to return again.

Beautiful campground with a beautiful 1 mile hiking loop around it and multiple swimming holes.
We stayed in sites 17 and 18. Site 17 is conveniently located next to the bathroom house. 2 issues with this, the flood lights are on a pole and go on and off constantly ALL day and night. We started calling it a disco light it was so bad! This needs to be changed/fixed immediately. The other was the smell from the bathrooms (terrible). Stay away from Site 17 until the light is fixed at least.
The campground host (Bill) is one of the best parts with stories for days and a joy for life that he spreads throughout the campground while checking on everything daily.
