About Paint Creek Campground

Paint Creek Recreation Area (elevation 1760 feet) is located in Greene County in a mountain cove along Paint Creek. A majority of the widely-spaced campsites have streamside views and are screened by a variety of native plants, including rhododendron, hemlock and laurel. Be Bear Wise: Food storage compliance is strictly enforced. Store all food and trash in hard-sided containers and vehicles while not in use. Never have attractants in your tent. Violations of the food storage order are ticketable offenses and subject to fines. Food and trash left unattended will be impounded by campground staff.

Wonderful campground. So beautiful and quiet. I wish there was a single shower house to help extend stays. Can't wait to get back and see it in the spring.

Couldn’t ask for a nicer camping experience! Grounds and facilities were clean and neat. Close by walking trails/sights were easily accessible and enjoyable. The camp host was very outgoing and helpful in sharing info on local areas of interest and overall knowledgeable of camping setup knowledge.

One guy ran ac on a generator 12 hours a day nonstop. I use one too but never over an hour twice a day at most. Rules limit hours but not running time . Temps never over 72 all week.
