Overall good experience. HOWEVER, the rules about hammocks are a little overboard. We had one hammock with tree friendly straps, right next to our site. It wasn’t in anyone’s way and it was tucked away so it wasn’t bothering anyone and only a foot away for our site edge. We were told to take it down. I understand that sometimes people may abuse them at the beach or in the woods. Maybe integrate a system for camp guests to be allowed one hammock per site and have rules? Or maybe put pegs for them to hang in the site. I also saw other people with hammocks and they were not told to take them down. After consulting other people who have stayed there, they all feel the same way. It’s a little overboard.

Large lots with lots of shade. Very busy campground during summer. Has a small camp store with limited inventory. kayak rentals at store. Bald River Falls is a short drive west from campground, a must see.

Always a pleasant time camping here. Great for kids. Never too loud. Campsites spacious and far apart. Wonderful camp store!

We love it and have been camping there for about 7 years now. There is a lake for fishing, Kayaking, and swimming. There is a 3 mile trail around the lake that you can walk. There’s lots of kids here for my kids to play with.

The camp sites are large and flat. It was easy to fit our 6 person tent and a picnic table canopy. We really enjoyed the lake and the beach, which were easy to bike to from the campsites. The is a nice wide (and shaded) trail around the lake; at 3.1 miles it's a perfect place for a jog. The mountain bike trails were nice, but all forest service roads (no single track). They were very scenic though and plenty of hills.
