Bathrooms were very clean easily accessible. It is one of the only campsites, lacking and awning, which would’ve been nice.

We stayed at both of the Rio Grande Village campgrounds - the one with full hookups and the one without. The campground with the hookups is pretty basic and definitely not as scenic, but having the electricity to run the A/C in our van during the hot weather was really nice. The WiFi at the campground store was really reliable and we had no problems getting a signal while we were close to the store. The staff at the store were really friendly and helpful and the store was stocked with all the essentials, including gas and diesel - nice since it was about an hour drive to the nearest town. The Rio Grande Village campground is really close to the boat launch area and several hiking trails so it's nice that you don't have to get in your vehicle if you don't need to. I would definitely recommend staying at this campground if you're visiting Big Bend - just keep your eye on the weather and plan accordingly for the heat.

Camp was in great condition, as always. Very quiet as well. The weather was a little hotter than we would have preferred, but had a wonderful experience anyway. Highly recommend this campground if you are looking to get away from everything and everyone.

The spacing in the campground is tight. But it was otherwise fine and brush provided some separation from nearby campers.

Despite an almost full campground the stay was quiet and peaceful. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The adjacent nature trail is a nice asset!

when we stayed there they had a hot period. We saw a heard of aoudads sheep. Very big animals! Also, take some water shoes on your hike and possibly something you are ok with getting wet. A soak in the Rio Grande River is a nice cool off in the middle of the hike. You definitely will want to bring these things to the hot springs hike. Possibly a lawn chair too if you would like to place it in the river to sit and soak your feet.
The campground had trees to provide shade for your camper and some picnic tables where covered. It did cool off at night pretty good though.
Donkeys and Javellana's also visited us in the campground. The donkeys wore cow bells so you could hear them at all times, even in the middle of the night. Kinda sounded like wind chimes at first.
Good place to camp, hiking near by, but go there when it's cooler.

My 5th trip to Big Bend was fantastic! It is so special to share the experience with people who haven’t been. Your best bet is to use the Pisano Visitor Guide that is on the website. If you can, print it or call the park to see if they will send you one, so you can plan before you go. A border wall would be a horrible, unnecessary addition to Big Bend National Park or Big Bend Ranch State Park. No Wall!!!

I always enjoy going to Rio Grande village. I was about 10 years old the first time my parents took me to Big Bend and we spent several nights at that campground. Good memories.
