Best campground in Big Bend! The atmosphere was incredible, camped next to donkeys and javelina, crossed the river at Boquillas and the night sky was the brightest I’ve ever seen!! Plus they have showers at the store. They’re not the best, but the only ones in the park.

We had an amazing time at Big Bend and the Rio Grande Village. The campsites were clean and bear boxes available. Gas and local convenience store are close and well stocked. Bathrooms and trash cans are readily available. Being so close to the RGV nature walk was definitely a plus, birdwatching and beautiful sunsets galore! Staff was friendly and helpful. Hiking the Chisos mountain was our favorite part. We tried to hike Santa Elena but unfortunately it was closed when we got there due to weather, It is quite a drive from RGV though so be prepared to leave early and get gas the night before. We will definitely be back!

Nice campsite. Was level and had enough shade. Clean toilets. Also the coin operated shower facility is a bonus. The day was a bit windy, so that kind of ruined the experience a bit. But not the fault of the campground.

We very much enjoyed our visit to the Big Bend but we ran into a difficulty at the Rio Grande Village campground. One of us requires the use of a medical oxygen generator at night for supplemental oxygen. We had picked an RV site at the end of a loop to be away from other campers. I had intended to contact the Campground Host to discuss the use of the generator at night but there was a sign in place indicating the Host was off duty. The noise made by the generator is low but is noticeable in an otherwise quiet setting. After we operated the generator until 4:30 a.m., the camp host came to our campsite and told us we had to shut it off. We chose to leave the campground and seek an alternate place for the remainder of the night. In retrospect, we should have gotten clarification about the Park policy on generator operation for medical purposes.

Amazing time - Boquillas was awesome, also the Boquillas Canyon hike was nice. Campgrounds were good, some sites more private than others.

Favorite campsite. Not back country, and each site was evenly spaced out. Very helpful to have a bathroom and a gas station and shower station down the road
