Was good, lots of bugs, campsites can have decent privacy from adjacent campers. Javelinas roamed through campsite during the day.

We stayed in the middle of the campground, where generators are allowed. Even though we were there in February/early March, we definitely needed the AC! We stayed 3 nights at this campground to explore the east side of the park. The campground was getting some renovations, but there are bathrooms located throughout. The nature trail walk on the south end looking over and down to the Rio Grande was beautiful. The trespassing burros wear cowbells, which can be disconcerting in the middle of the morning. We also saw Javelinas in the campground. The hosts were nice, but strict on the number of cars and tents per site.

Most of the campsites are not very private but it's a neat, organized campground. Generators are allowed during daytime hours so those hours can be noisy if you're next to an RV. Do not miss the nature trail!! Also they have the best store in the park.

This campground is a not-so-hidden gem! The peace and quiet were amazing and we valued the strict limits on lighting and generator use. Our site felt semi-private and had great access to trails and restrooms without feeling claustrophobic. We knew we would have a wonderful trip but were absolutely blown away. Looking forward to our next visit already!

Close to Boquillas canyon and hot springs trails. Sites have trees for shade or a cover over the picnic table. Flush toilets and a dish washing sink available.

The Rio Grande Village was a pleasant camp site. There were pretty trees, the grass was green (recent irrigation), and we saw different birds and wildlife such as the javelinas. The Rio Grande Village is in close proximity to Boquillas Canyon. The hike in Boquillas Canyon was beautiful and gave a nice view of the Rio Grande River. We didn't realize that the park is so massive that it takes one hour from the entrance to many sites. We were glad we brought meals and food with us and plenty of water. There is a nice camp store in the park.

This is a very nice campground with a gorgeous hike out of the campground to a lookout point over the big bend in the Rio Grande. We saw javalinas in the campground both days and they were very interesting to see! The campground hosts are also very nice. Itβs a great location to stay for visits to the hot springs, Boquillas Canyon, and Boquillas, Mexico. I recommend visiting all three of those places while in Big Bend.
