Very well kept and maintained campground. The rangers and camp host are nice and extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We have been camping in the Chisos for years and are always glad to be back.

Great site for a 20 foot camper. Enjoyed my stay here during memorial weekend.
Best view of the Chisos Mountains in the Chisos basin campground. This site is sloped. Be prepared with enough leveling blocks.
It required 2 inch level on driver side, and 12 inch raise on tongue jack (Anderson block worked great)

Wonderful campsite and the volunteers/rangers are just so friendly! Great facilities and an awesome site with a bit of altitude for cool evenings and mornings, even in June! No showers might be the only drawback, but we got ourselves rinsed in the hot springs and the Santa Elena Canyon, so it wasn't the end of the world.

Fantastic location and campground where I could spend two nights. Direct access to the Window trail and a short walk or drive to the visitor center for tackling the South Rim trail and the Emory Peak hike. I enjoyed the friendly chat with the rangers in the morning. And at night, Chisos Basin is a treat for stargazing!

Love this campground and this site, in particular. Covered picnic table with lots of space and privacy. It is right next to the main entrance so you’ll have a lot of cars going by, but it wasn’t a huge deal.

Best place to be the time of year despite it being hot as heck everywhere else the basin makes it a little better and at night it’s tolerable. Host was very friendly. The snack store was not too far away. For raw camping with a full restroom nearby you really could not ask for more. And the land is literally magical!

Beautiful site! Remote enough to be quiet, but still close to the visit center and some amenities. I can't recommend this spot enough. Great views and close to all the major trailheads for the area.
