Great site good views had a bear come in right behind our camp. Campsites / neighbors are pretty close but most of the sites in the basin are close

We tent camped. Enjoyed sitting at camp looking at the stars. We hiked The window Trail. Very nice hike. Then off to Lost Mines trail. The most beautiful hike in Big Bend. We are planning to go back in March.

Wonderful campground with some jaw dropping views but beware of the sticker burrs.

Everything was exceptional except for the loud children screaming in the area. I know that this cannot be helped, but it was rather loud.

004 site loop 1 in Chisos Basin was a pretty good spot, but not level at all. It seemed like a lot of traffic going to other sites. Camp site was next to restrooms and close to water and dump station. We did get permission to pull RV in going opposite to one-way traffic to have RV door facing the campsite.

The bathrooms were filthy; however, I wonder if the lapse in appropriations had something to do with it.

1/5 stars. It was too big. The night sky was too pretty. It was a reasonable temperature.

During the shutdown we camped in the basin. There were still clean bathrooms. We hauled our trash to dumpsters that were emptied while we were there. The volunteer ranger - Mark helped us when we arrived with too many vehicles for our chosen campsite. He relocated to a site where we were actually comfortable. Weather was good and we hiked the Lost Mine Peak trail - I recommend. The camp store plus a food truck was available to campers in the basin.
