This spot is incredibly sloped. Multiple sets of levelers required. While the CG is scenic with hikes in close proximity, it’s absolutely bustling. Meh.

Very nice campground, clean toilet spaces, great proximity to visitor center area and all major trails in Chisos Basin.

I was able to reserve three nights at Chisos Basin Campground, each at a different campsite. Totally worth it to be in this amazing national park. The daily moves were easy in our van and it enabled us to be in this stunningly beautiful campground. We had vault toilets and potable water spigots near our sites and there is a potable water tank fill hose at the dump station in the loop. We deliberately kept our fresh and gray water tanks at low capacity in order to lighten up the van for our daily trips in and out of the campground. The road into the campground is about 4 miles of steep and curvy driving. Use lower gears for the climb and descent. And have a great time!

Campground sites are close together, but easy to access. The campground ground has several hikes to access without driving. I also appreciated the limited generator use and no light policy. My stay was quiet, peaceful and the stars were great.

Our visit was short and sweet. We spent one night and left in the dark to climb the nearby trail to see the amazing sunrise. All good.

This was my second time staying at the Chisos Basin Campground. The location is perfect to access some of the most scenic trails in the park. The campsites vary in size and privacy. Everyone is very considerate though and it gets quiet early and there is rarely an issue with any noise.

The Park was in excellent condition...campsites, trails, amenities. The Park has a food truck behind the restaurant that has a limited menu, but makes great food.
