Sites needed some cleanup. A lot of overgrowth that should have been taken care of.
Too many people speeding thru campground. Need speed bumps

We loved our stay at Crane's Mill! It's a terrific location for visiting San Antonio and other area state parks/natural areas. Our site was level, had more than enough space for our 37 foot trailer and our truck, plus an extra space for parking. Our covered picnic table was great and located next to the smoker style grill. The fire pit was also appreciated.
Hosts were gracious. Trash was easy to access and the dump station is a two'fer. We camped in the first loop and didn't use the restrooms, but they are very conveniently located.
Only note - this park has shorter than usual hours - be sure you understand the times you can enter the gate or risk being an unhappy camper! No gate codes. The gate locks. (Typical of COE parks, but 9pm is pretty early!)
We visited the Alamo - it was about a 50 minute ride on a Sunday afternoon. A great trip for history buffs. It was pretty busy, perhaps a weekday would be a better choice. The Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country on FM 2673 was delightful! Dinosaur prints and the docent giving the tour was awesome. Great for kids and adults alike. Maven's Grill just down the street from the park had a quite tasty dinner and yummy adult beverages. We will be back!

This is one of our favorite parks. The park is small, quiet and great for a little quiet time visit away from home. Gate Attendants ( Doug and Joyce Phillips) are such awesome people. Helpful and friendly.

We visit this park twice a year for many reasons:
1. Cleanliness of park
2. Friendliness of Park Hosts

Loved this campground. The camp hosts were so friendly but no nonsense on keeping the grounds safe, enjoyable and fantastically clean. Being able to rely on quiet hours is great, especially when traveling across country and depending on sleep. Great view of lake from every site. We’ll definitely be back!

Always great camping at Crane's Mill. Wish they had Wi-Fi though. Would be willing to pay extra for the convenience.

Great park and amenities. Volunteer are very much sticklers for the rules. I believe gate should not be closed at 9:00 pm. A little inconvenient if you take in a concert at Greene Hall.

Crane Mill park is a great COE park. Water and Electric work exactly as expected. The dump station on the way out works well, even for our 40' MH and towed jeep to fit. Roads and site surfaces are smooth.
Alas, the lake level was very low this year, but still a nice venue to relax for a week or so. Easy to get to local shopping and services, we had a great time, one week, Nov 2023.
