In site 69. Great site! Lots of room and has separate parking space for tow vehicle, boat, etc. Good shade. Nice park, only drawback is 9 pm lockout. Most entertainment (music, restaurants, etc) are several miles away and 9 pm curfew is too early! Was told the curfew changes to 10 pm during peak season, but having a gate with a code provided to campers as we have experienced at other COE locations would be ideal. A shout out to volunteer Charlotte who was went above and beyond her duties to be kind and helpful!

We did not have our best camping experience here! We had been to the campground many years ago and had a good experience. We saw many deer and the site was fine. This time we did not see any wildlife. The lake (Canyon Lake) was way down. Boat ramps were closed. Check-in was at 3 pm. We arrived at 2:30 pm. The attendant would not let us in until exactly 3 pm. She was very nice and said that she did not agree with the policy either. We have been to many CORP, State and LCRA parks in Texas and if you arrive early and your spot is empty, they will let you proceed. I understand waiting if your spot is still occupied. Also, when we arrived, the 30 amp hookup did not work. It is a good thing we had a 50 to 30 amp converter plug. A number of the sites were not mown and overgrown. We asked for a map, but were told we would have take a picture of a map hanging up. Will not go back.

What a great find. A lot of the campsites are in direct sun, but there are a few in wooded area.

This was our first visit to Potters Creek and we were pleasantly surprised. Even though the lake level is quite low, as with most lakes in central Texas, the park is just charming. Our site (#75) was well shaded, with a cute covered picnic table, fire ring and separate grill. Plenty of room for our 32' trailer, with a side area to park the truck if we wanted. The pad was easy to access and no problems getting level. The restroom facility was clean and roomy. The handicap shower appeared to be huge. My only complaint would be that the lighting could have been better, but that was not a deal breaker. It is E-bike friendly and evening walks were so enjoyable. Everyone we met was so nice. The park staff at the gate were so kind and inviting. There are several places to visit and things to do not far from the park, so I recommend day outings if you can.
We will definitely be back.

The park itself was very nice and for the most part clean. Myself and many others have as issue with the check-in rules and procedures. To start off 3pm is too late. Most parks are 1 or 2 pm. Second, if you arrive a little early and your site is unoccupied you should allow entry. I arrived at 1:30 and there was already 3 rv's waiting in line to get in in. The gate attendant refused to let anyone in until 3pm. By 3 oclock there were at least 7-8 rvs clogging up the entrance to the park waiting to get in. In the 1.5 hours I waited only 2 rvs left the park. The gate attendance should have the authority to bend the rules if needed and makes reasonable. They know if the spaces are empty. At 3 oclock it was a crazy with everyone trying to get in and it really is a safety issue.

Only complaint is that you cannot get to your space until 3 pm. Yes I know check in is 3 pm but I have always arrived about an hour early and was able to be checked in at any other park. Me and 5 other had to wait in line to get in at 3pm . Even though we could have checked in at 2 pm. Seems like it was a control thing for this lady.

We love Potters Creek so much that we visit 1-2 times per month. The park is very well maintained and the staff is very nice. It has a beautiful view of the lake and several spots to choose from, under oak trees or lake front.

- No one is allowed in the park unless they have a reservation or are a guest of a reservation. Before entering the park all reservation holders and their guests MUST check in with a gate attendant. You can not check in /drive in after the gates are locked each night. Speak with the gate attendants when you arrive so they can answer any questions you have about coming in after normal gate hours. If you are traveling to check in and know you will not arrive until after gate closing, know that you will NOT be able to access the park until the next morning when the gates open again. You may always leave the park after the main gate is locked, but will not be allowed to re-enter with a vehicle after the gates are locked. You may walk into your site, but the vehicle must be parked outside of the gate on the side, out of the way until the gate opens in the morning. You may NOT drive through the locked gates or attempt to reenter the park with a vehicle after you have left and the gates are locked. If the gate is locked when you return to the park, you may walk to your site after hours if you have already checked in earlier with the gate attendants. Anyone attempting to drive into the locked park after hours is subject to a citation, potentially punctured tires, and to pay for any damages you do to the gate(s) that are locked.

- No feeding the wildlife in the park. Do NOT attempt to interact with the wild life. Some are protective of their territory, homes, dens, food and young. If you encroach on their space, they may become aggressive. To keep you safe, we ask that you do not feed, pet, handle, chase, harass, follow, hunt or attempt in any form or fashion to attract or interact directly with the wild life. You may observe them from a distance. If you find a fawn or other baby animal by itself, do not handle them. Mother animals often leave their young in a 'safe' place so they can go off and eat. The mothers will be back for their young, but if you touch it, the mother will often abandon the baby since the animal now smells like you. Contact the gate attendants, park host or park ranger for assistance in any situation similar to what is described above. We will usually tell you to leave the naimal alone. Nature has a way of "fixing" what we perceive as an issue, when usually it is not. Game wardens and Park rangers can investigate if there is a serious problem like a rabid or injured animal.
