Double Lake is one of our favorite campgrounds. It is a quiet setting, with a relatively small number of RV and travel trailer sites, but we have never had any issues finding a site. The sites are well-spaced, each nestled into the woods and many with direct waterfront access. The campgrounds’ small lake and walking/biking trails are good. The fishing is ok, with always plenty of blue Gil biting. An occasional catfish and bass keep it challenging. The campsites are mostly level, but there are a few that you’ll need some leveling blocks. Water pressure is ok. All sites have 30 and 50 amp service. Some sites have sewer connections. About a third of the sites are available on a first-come first serve basis. The remainder are reservable on Recreation.gov.

We had the non electric area because we give the area for the elderly and people with disabilities to have they’re stay enjoyable. And we got the spot which is perfect and it’s close to the lake. Staying at the double lake campsite make us feel so comfortable especially when the staff are keep on going with their rounds and checking the campers specially Ms Cindy. They are so friendly! I hope to see you guys again 😁!

Great campground. Slight leveling needed. Quiet and peaceful area. Town of Cleveland is about 18 miles away. Used the Walgreens for getting our mail through Fedx. Town has most needed stores and eateries if needed. The town of Coldspring has stores also for needed items and is closer.
Area has a well maintained beach. We would stay again. Cell coverage isn't the best at 1-2 bars on AT&T and poor OTA TV.
14 day max stay. Part of the Sam Houston National Forest.

Great Park! Nice level site. Full Hookups and nice bike trail for us to ride our ebikes. The only downside (or blessing if you’re wanting to get away from it all) is that the cell signal was not that great. We will definitely be back.

We love coming here to relax and unwind from the hussle and bussle of Houston. Campsites are spaced out to where you have your own private slice of heaven under the tall pine trees. Sites are easy to back into, clean facilities.
