Nice spots. Nice picnic tables, Nice shelters. Nice fire rings and nice grills for cooking. Fairly quiet, except for the dogs that campers bring. (Why are there dogs for everyone to hear?) Just know that there is no electricity or water at the sites. One outlet in each bathroom and one faucet at each bathroom. You cannot wash your dishes at the outside faucet, but you can fill up containers and carry them to your site. Good enough showers and okay toilets (there was water on the floor, which got on your pants when sitting).

I'd never been here before and booked the only available campsite in the park on a Friday, which was a "group shelter" campsite. This is a screened in small cabin with a full sized bedframe along with a twin bunk bed. You need to supply your own sleeping mat/pad/etc for these beds. In addition there is a charcoal grill for each cabin and picnic tables. This is obviously designed for families with small children. The thing that disappointed me about it is that these campsites are very close to one another - my cabin was about 15 ft away from my nearest neighbor. That happened to be a occupied by a solo camper who abandoned the cabin and pitched a tent even a bit closer to mine, maybe 10 ft from my cabin door. Some of these campsites had a little more space, but you really don't have privacy. There are fairly clean bathrooms and a dedicated spigot for running water. Quiet hours were posted from 10 PM - 6 AM, and there's a park host nearby, I am quite sure anyone violating this would get shut down and/or thrown out quickly. Outside access to the goodwater loop trail, there is a beach (which seemed pretty nice, fine grained gravel in lieu of sand), and a boat ramp. I didn't really get a good look at the primitive campsites, but from what I saw it didn't look like there was much in the way of more spacing there.
For the group shelters, if you have a family with kids this could be a good choice for a "camping" experience. If you're looking to get away from the world, or hang out past 10 PM with your friends with music on and talking, this is not what you're looking for.
