We were there Nov. 14-17 2024. The weather was amazing. We had site 30, right on the water. Love the site, had some shade trees. Only had one issue. Thursday night we had a fire. Friday night we also had a fire, but then someone came by and said Denton County was under a burn ban and we had to put it out. A few hours later we took the dogs for a walk and saw 4 sites that had fires going; One of which was right next to a park host and they were on site. Would've been nice if we were told when we checked in and also for park staff to monitor everyone. We always cook by fire so we wouldn't have gone had we been notified.

We were in site 88 right on the lake. Beautiful, large quiet site. Signage was excellent for finding the site.

This is a beautiful park, wildlife everywhere in close proximity to a major metropolitan area. Lots of dear, ducks, geese, and squirrel. Unfortunately not many fish during my stay LOL.
There are many park hosts and while the park and grounds are beautifully kept, the shower and restroom facilities are terribly lacking in maintenance and cleanliness. This was the only reason I was unable to give a five star rating.

We always go there, and it's lovely to be so close to a family of deers growing each year Daddy Buck and Moma Deer and 9 children dancing around us. Cool morning breeze and fit full dark night in the trees. Enjoying every bit of it. Thank you thank you thank you

We lived our stay at Hickory Creek. The camp hosts were incredible, the facilities were well cared for and the location was close to Dallas.
