Hickory Creek park was quiet, nicely maintained, and my site had a lovely view of the lake. Plenty of trails and lots of available trash dumpsters.

We love Hickory Creek Campground! It is so close to the city, but it seems like a true getaway into nature. It is clean and perfectly maintained. We highly recommend it!

This was a great park, and I had a campsite close to the water where I could use my kayak.
My bad experience was concerning the ladies' restroom/shower house that served Campsite #24. Out of four bathroom stalls, only 2 were working. At one point, the 2 handicap toilets were either not working or the floor was covered with water. There were multiple shower stalls, but all but one were closed. It was a very nice bathhouse, and would have been great if everything was working and no yucky water to have to walk in.

When traveling North on I-35E, take exit 458A toward Swisher Rd/FM-2181 onto S stemmons Fwy. Continue onto N Stemmons Fwy toward Hundley Dr/Turbeville Rd. Turn right on to N Lake Dallas Dr towards Hundley Dr/Turbeville Rd. Turn sharp right onto W Hundley Dr towards Hickory Creek. Continue on Turbeville Rd, and turn left onto Point Vista Rd. After 0.5 miles, Hickory Creek Campground will be on the right.
When traveling South on I-35E, take exit 457 toward Lake Dallas Dr onto Stemmons Fwy. Then, take ramp towards Turbeville Rd/Hundley Dr/Hickory Creek. Turn left onto Turbeville Rd towards Hickory Creek. Turn left onto Point Vista Rd. After 0.5 miles, Hickory Creek Campground will be on the right.

STOP THE SPREAD OF INVASIVE SPECIES. Remove plants, seeds, animals, and mud from boots, gear, pets, and vehicles. Clean your gear before entering and leaving the recreation site. Stay on designated roads and trails, and follow local guidelines for firewood.
