What Guests Are Saying
Mill Creek offers a beautiful, relaxing environment with friendly park hosts and ample space for family activities, making it a great spot for camping. Many guests appreciate the clean facilities and scenic views of the lake, along with enjoyable playgrounds for children. However, there are concerns about the maintenance of the campground, including uneven sites, overgrown grass, and the need for repairs, which detracts from the overall experience for some visitors.

Nice Shady Spot! Park is clean but not pristine, not overly fussy but well kept for the well used areas. This site is very near to the water and other sites but not right upon other sites, nicely spaced out. Site 12, as most-if not all sites, had a covered, extra long picnic table, a lantern hook and a fire ring-all sites are paved nicely but some slope more than others. We got this spot because of proximity to the water and the bath house/restrooms. The pavement was easy to drive on and walk on. We stayed on a very busy weekend so there was a lot of foot traffic but have no complaints. Pad size was pretty large but there was a tree close so if you had an awning to use it may would have been restrictive. There was lighting at the bath house and just a few other places and it was very dim-not a bad thing but we did use a flashlight a lot. A tip for the showers if you will be using them is to bring the over the door hooks or strong magnet hooks for the metal shower doors to keep your clothing/towels dry.
The only negative I can say is there was no hand soap in the bathrooms(not even a dispenser) and our proximity to the bathrooms plus how busy it was lead to several people walking very close to our van, not that it made the trip bad or really impacted us in any way, just know that this site is in the 'path' that walkers would take.
Camp host was very nice and very helpful.
Try the BBQ joint on the entrance road(TexasPete??)--it was EXCELLENT and they are a nice couple. We tried the ribs, pulled pork/sausage sandwich, the bbq/boudain burger and the cracklin. Very filling and a great, laid-back atmosphere: 10/10-would go back. We walked down and it took less than 20 min at a leisurely stroll with our dog, but know that the road is busy with no shoulder.
We had a very good experience and do plan to return!

After some 30 years using this park I finally have to say I’m disappointed. The bathrooms were not maintained enough during the holiday weekend. Toilet paper was the only evidence that someone came to the restrooms daily, the floors were a mess all weekend. Before Covid, you could set your clock by the bathrooms being cleaned daily and you knew that were sanitized and safe to use. Not sure when it changed but after Covid 19 hit, this camp ground has slacked up in the cleaning of the restrooms and lawn care of camp sites. Leaves were thick and have not been removed from winter. I had to sweep them away from the fire pit just to make it safer. Never been like this before. The park host/attendance before Covid 19 used to be friendly and welcoming. Now you’re rarely see them except once a day riding through on a around checkout time. The other issue is the apparent change in the unlimited vehicles and tents per site. My view of the lake was blocked by 3 large tents and 1 travel trailer with 8 vehicle and 2 boats that came and went all weekend. I’ll be read next time I make reservations so this doesn’t happen again, if I return to any Camp grounds operated by this arrangement. Do not let my opinion keep you from going, I’ve had a great time with my friends and family at this campground hopefully it will be better next time for all.

very nice trip, it used to be locked down at 10 pm, wish it still was to keep unwanted people out after 10pm.

Spacious sites throughout. Stayed at site 5 in loop E. No interaction with host other than waiving as they drove by. Nice views of the lake as you walk around, but no trails. Restroom and showers could have been kept cleaner.

We had a great site on the water, sunsets were beautiful and the weather co-operated. Camp host was very friendly and checked in regularly.

Great sites along the water. Our 2nd visit and still like it the same. Bathrooms need updates! At least some maintenance can be done soon for better lighting and hot water to be consistent among the shower stalls. Dump station is very poorly appointed. We go dump at Martin Dies Jr. SP like we did ithe last time, on our way back towards the Gulf.
