Beautiful place, amazing view and clean but unfortunately the primitive site was not the comfiest I've stayed. No shade, no gazebo, no water hookup, no grill, restrooms were really far. The site I rented was the only waterfront so people came (even at night) and parked their cars to access the lake

We enjoyed our stay at Alley Creek. It was very quiet and peaceful. The staff were very professional and very nice.

Good campsite even though our original site didn’t have the promised electricity.
The swimming area was terrible. Trash and fish bones scattered along the dirt. The “beach area” was washed making it difficult to walk across.

The ants ruined everything. We set up our tent, unloaded our stuff, and had to run back to our house a few miles away to get another load. By the time we got back our entire tent was infested with ants! On the way back to the house we realized our car was infested with ants. So I started looking around the campsite and every single tree had so many ants covering it we couldn't even tie our hammock to them. For $18 / night for me and our stay is 100% expense free for the campground you'd think they would at least make sure it was safe. We drove 40 miles to town (ONE WAY) and got 5lbs or child safe / pet safe ant killer & thought it would be enough. Not even close. My wife and children will have scars.

Alley Creek is one of our favorite local COE parks. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Sites are spacious, especially on Loop 1. Our only complaint is that cuts to federal funding impact maintenance to the grounds. This problem is not unique to alley creek. We camp here 2-3 times a year.

The views were great! the breeze keeping the bugs off at the group camp was great as well but almost everyone had hundreds of ants in their camper. Even after putting down powder around our wheels and intake areas the ants just kept coming. I don't usually write bad reviews but they really need to eradicate these ants. I even polled other campers in other areas and they all complained about the ants.

We've been coming for years. I can't say how disappointed I am tgat this place still isnt repaired after our last visit. Bathrooms were open this time, but no AC on our loop. The beach is a disgrace. Rocks and weeds. So many shells. Its not pleasant. Also not pleasant, Whitney the park host. Someone is high on assumed power. Makes guests wait at gate so she can "hunt" people down. She drives her cart around teyi g to tell us how to camp. Tells other to slow down on the road as she drives too fast. There are kids playing. Im sorry, use your misused power when you dont have a gate full of rigs needing to check in. Now park host Mimi is a gem!! We just love her!! The park Rangers, we met, we lovely too. Not sure if we will continue to come out for the holidays. Too much wrong.

The ants were everywhere! We were in the group loop at Alley Creek - and even though we put ant powder around our tires and hitch - the ants invaded our trailers and tow vehicles. Thousands of ants were on each trailers/motorhome. We sprayed and they still made it into the trailers and cars/trucks.
Campground was kept clean and staff was very friendly. Would not go back unless the ants are taken care of.
