Sites are great! The bathrooms and showers could use a little care. Other than that, we had an amazing time.

my experience with recreation.gov in the past has been good. However the reservation at Alley Creek Camp was a disaster. I placed the reservation about two months ago. About a month latter tried to cancel the reservation online, i followed the site which then had you confirm that I wanted to cancel the reservation which I did then it stated that my refund could not be processed at that time. i REVISITED THE SITE THE NEXT DAY AND CANCELED THE RESERVATION AGAIN, THIS TIME THE SITE SAID THAT THE RESERVATION WAS CANCELLED. WHEN THE DATE AFTER THE DAY THAT MY RESERFVATION WAS ORIGINALLY TO START I RECEIVED A CALL FROM ALLEY CREEK CAMP WANTING TO KNOW IF I WAS STILL COMMING . I TOLD THEM THAT THE RESERVATION HAD BEEN CANCELLED ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY CREDIT.
I really have enjoyed Corp Parks but there reservation system needs to be reramped.

Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. Campsite was clean, easy to access and great views of the lake. Power was reliable as was the water pressure. The only thing that would have made it better would have been to stay longer. Camp hosts were by a few times each day and very friendly, but not intrusive. Overall, such a great time.

It's a very nice place. We were in spot E218, very nice view of the lake. This might be comical, but we inadvertently thought an area that is fenced off; next to the road and down from the restroom area was a dog park. It's just a bit smaller than a football field -- but much to our surprise it was a drain field for the septic tank. There was no sign -- but we saw what we thought was a water sprinkler leaking and when we called the host; they told us what it was. Should put a sign and chains where you can enter next time! LOL (It didn't smell so we were obvlivious)

The park itself is absolutely beautiful. While we were there, it had rained (not a big deal), but after the rain came the ANTS. I am talking about thousands of ants. They got in our tent, in our dogs food (enclosed in a container), our suitcases... you name it. I had to leave camp and go to the store to purchase about $60 worth of ant poison to surround our camp and kill what was already there. I then had to spend practically an entire day taking everything apart and cleaning out everything. We had our 3 year old daughter with us and our black lab. On the site next to us were my in-laws (mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, my niece, 2 nephews and one of their friends). They also had a huge ant problem after the rain. Also, there were a couple of the restrooms that were infested with ants and spiders. Overall, we loved it there, but the ants made it difficult to enjoy ourselves the entire time.
