The location and the actual park are excellent. The infrastructure from the roads to the bathhouses to the over-abundance of poorly utilized tent sites are problems. I feel that the park has reached a state where routine maintenance just cannot accommodate the deterioration of the park. I have no idea what happens during the three month shut down ( I was told maintenance??) but no maintenance is at all visible. Same problems exist as last fall. A utilization study would certainly validate the need for additional RV sites and likely the Tent section at the north or far end of the park would could easily support an additional 20 sites. I have not observed any use of this tent section in my stays here over the last year. The transformation of this section would be a remarkable addition to the park and increase benefit to the public-taxpayers noticeably. Thanks for considering this assessment.

Brushy Creek on Lake of the Pines in East Texas is beautiful. The campsites are well maintained, they’re not on top of each other, have wonderful views of the lake, and are very affordable. The staff at the park are always so friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Brushy Creek is our favorite campground in East Texas.

Beautiful hilly campsite with most sites having a view of the lake. Our site was nice a flat, easy to get into and out of.
