An awesome place that my wife found. Nice swimming spots and boat launch. The sites are nice, facilities clean, no real complaints. Also there was someone routinely driving around on a golf cart, I think it was the park host, so it’s nice that they keep an eye on the place and check in. We did have one small problem, the first night, we lost our power, but thankfully it was for no more than an hour, and it was actually kind of a gnarly storm so it wasn’t surprising.
Also, if you’re not familiar with the area, definitely consider checking out the nearby city of Jefferson downtown. It’s really nice and has tons of culture for such a small town, it was nice. You can rent a golf cart for $10/hr and ride all around the downtown area. McGarrity’s was a good place to eat, the Jefferson General store was super cool, and plenty of other cute stores around. Nice small town vibes. Just be aware that most places there are closed on Monday, and many places close around 3pm during the week, I think. At least some of them do.

Large clean rv & tent sites that are spread out nicely. Beautiful lake and lots of shade.

There was no gate attendant until 10 pm like the website said. I didn’t get a gate code in a separate email like I was told in another email. I sat at the gate for an hour and couldn’t get in. No security guard ever came and no one answered the phone for the campground. I wasn’t able to even get into the park at all. I was able to call recreation.gov but they didn’t have an updated gate code.

Completely disappointed in the enforcement of the rules during my last few visits, I don't understand why there is rules and regulations if there not enforced. During my visit I seen campsites with more occupants and equipment than allowed, I seen vehicles parked on grass at multiple campsites, I seen a guy riding around on a bicycle with a loud gas motor two days in a row, I was awaken in the middle of the night by a loud exhaust piece of junk Dodge truck who went in and of the park multiple times, and then there was the music. That was my experience, not very good.

Brushy Creek is one of the best parks in our area. Attention to cleanliness in both the sites and restrooms & showers is remarkable. Despite recent heavy rain the park is open and fully functional.

A park ranger took a stray dog and probably sold it. Very disappointing. Brad Grimes assured us he would do the right thing with the dog. It appears he did not. In our dealings with this matter we uncovered several discrepancies involving the rangers. I feel like an investigation is past due.
