This is a great camping spot. There are a lot of trees, the tent pads are nice and flat, and restrooms are clean. The lake is really pretty and great for fishing but not so great for just cruising around and hanging out on the lake. Be sure to get a lake map that shows that many many MANY stumps.

Other than about 20 people at one tent site in tent area 1 that thought everyone wanted to hear their music and the fact the rest rooms weren’t cleaned very well and only a couple rolls of TP in each it was okay. I called the ranger Cody and got some results on the bathroom issues. But they do need to start enforcing barking dog and loose dogs rules. As well as loud music.

Beautiful area! Campsites are great with views of the lake. Visiting Jefferson nearby is a must and should try the yummy pecan pralines.

Park is clean and well maintained. Pads are paved and level w/ 30 & 50 amp and water. The employees were happy & helpful. Highly recommend 5-D steakhouse in Avinger and a day in Jefferson. Lots to do and see in Jefferson.
