We had a great experience at Johnson Creek despite road work that was in progress. The gate attendants were very kind and helpful with anything we needed. We’re looking forward to returning and to experiencing the new make-over.

We loved it. Staff and the other guests were very friendly. It was peaceful and quiet. We loved our site and took long walks among a large deer population in the park. We had no need for the showers but we did inspect them. They were clean and secure. Short drive from Jefferson, Tx

It was very good but could have been excellent if the restrooms and showers were maintained a little better. People were very friendly and helpful.

Although it had been 10 yrs since coming there, it was just as enjoyable as I remember. The weather was great. One thing I noticed was the employees and officials made rounds on a regular basis. Also the ladies working the gate were amazing. So friendly and helpful, answering any questions I had. We had tent camping on the east side and I recommend it to anyone wanting to do that. Hope to be back in the fall.

The site we were in (301) had a beautiful view of the lake. The park was very clean and safe. The little town of Jefferson is close and I would recommend spending some time there. A lot of history, train ride, and boat tour down the river.

The campground is kept very clean. Slobs are more prevalent than ever these days. Volunteer teams like the Carter’s are diligently working every day to compensate.
