What Guests Are Saying
Ratcliff Lake Recreation Area is praised for its beautiful scenery, spacious and quiet campgrounds, and well-maintained facilities, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and outdoor activities. Many visitors enjoyed the hiking trails, clean restrooms, and peaceful atmosphere, with some returning frequently. However, there were a few concerns regarding noise from neighbors, occasional maintenance issues, and a lack of sewer hookups, but overall, guests had a positive experience and expressed a desire to return.

A wonderful family friendly place to camp. The staff was helpful and the campsite was very quiet after dark with no loud partying etc. Be weary when walking off trail during hunting season as I heard multiple rifle shots every morning. Water was not far from the site and the restrooms were very clean. They also cleaned them daily. You will enjoy this close get away from city life. We will be back again soon.

Loved it. Nice trails, great swimming hole, lovely forests. Nieces and nephews had a blast.

If you want to get away from things, hang out in the forest, but still have access to clean restroom facilities, an autumn visit here is the place to be. The lake is nice and at least partly visible from most campsites. The hosts are always friendly. While we just go to rest, read and spend time together by a campfire, there are trails and a day area with a boat ramp, swimming area, fishing piers, and group areas that include a pavilion and amphitheater.

The weather was sublime; the restrooms were close by and very clean. Not much luck fishing but the scenery was beautiful.

Very nice well maintained park. The spots are spread out and roomy. Lots of trees that provide shade all day. Camp host Christy and Dale were very helpful with answering questions and helping us find a spot for the following week. Will definitely add this park to our "Stay here again" list.

This is a great campground that could be. It is an overgrown mess and in serious need of maintenance. This campground is very tight for Class A coaches with so many low hanging trees that you will need new paint after traversing the tiny, narrow roads. Some of the campsites are in such disrepair, that it is near impossible to get a level placement and very tight to get in to. Camp hosts also allow so many lights from the campers that it is lit up like a Christmas tree. Could be much better with some proper attention.

Ratcliff Lake is one of my favorite parks in Texas. The campsites are large with lots of trees and the facilities are nice and clean. The lake is beautiful and there are lots of places to explore in the area.
