Ratcliff Lake Recreation Area is praised for its beautiful scenery, spacious and quiet campgrounds, and well-maintained facilities, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and outdoor activities. Many visitors enjoyed the hiking trails, clean restrooms, and peaceful atmosphere, with some returning frequently. However, there were a few concerns regarding noise from neighbors, occasional maintenance issues, and a lack of sewer hookups, but overall, guests had a positive experience and expressed a desire to return.

We only spent one night there at Radcliff recreation area but it was very nice, we got to walk around and enjoy the afternoon on the nice trails and roads

First time camping on our own, and it was a solid experience. Campground is clean, has a good variety of walking trails, a decent swimming area (could be bigger), and the restrooms were abundant enough that we never had to wait for them. Most sites are on the water and good views, and we even discovered a historical site in the back of the campground. There isn't much nearby if you forget anything, but the gas station down the street was well stocked with basics and firewood.

The facilities were all so clean and we almost had the park to ourselves. Of course in East Texas in August it was hot but we enjoyed taking our three granddaughters camping for the youngest ones first camping trip. She loved playing in the sand at the camp and had a good time making roast marshmallows. The older girls enjoyed riding bikes and going up and down the hills. The little play area was a big hit with them all. We only stayed one night but we had a great time.
