What Guests Are Saying
Lavonia is praised for its beautiful lake views and peaceful atmosphere, making it a great spot for campers. Many reviews highlight the friendly park hosts and the spaciousness of the sites, which provide a sense of privacy. However, maintenance issues such as overgrown grass, pothole-ridden roads, and inadequate restroom facilities detract from the overall experience, indicating a need for better management and upkeep.

Easy access, friendly host, well maintained restrooms, roads and sites. September was the right time to visit this park! Kids loved the warm water. Gentle breeze for kite flying. We will go there again.

Campground was small and quiet. The roads could use a repave. Camp hosts were super friendly. Would return for a longer stay.

Half the sites were unusable because of a power issue, we were told. The roads inside the park were horrible and rut filled. We did not actually stay for want of shade. It was sketchy enough at exit because of the ruts that we dis nit return.

horribly rude gate tendents. Unwilling to work with their customers and just outright nasty

Our site was great. We had tons of grass area and a beautiful view of the lake. No swim beach at this park though even though it says it does. Still was able to get into the water easily at our site and we had a great time. Ground was pretty uneven and you must be able to proper up the front.

We stayed at Site 27, BLOO May 12-16, 2022. It was a corner spot with trees across the drive for afternoon shade and had full hookups which was unexpected. However, the site had a steep grade front to back that maxed out our tongue jack. The camp sites were nicely spaced but were very steep/unlevel. The park itself needed some attention and maintenance (ie. grass was knee-high, BBQ grills broken, and bathrooms/showers were either closed or in need of repairs/not functioning). With some much needed love this would be a great campground!

Needs better ventilation in the bathroom as it was well over 110 degrees in the afternoon.
Also need to keep squatters out on weekends.
