The sights a spaced out nicely. Our site had a nice view of the lake. We came in a day early and they let us stay at our registered site so we didn’t need to move.

We were not happy about the gate hours. (10 am til 10 pm). It’s not possible to get in before 10 am or after 10 pm as there is no gate code! It was not a great problem for us this time, but could have been. We visit relatives in the area who are very sick and we sometimes need to be with them at late hours. Will you consider installing a gate code for those reasons.
Also, repairs are needed to roads (potholes etc) and 50 amps would be great as we kept throwing breaker in site 7. The camp host/gate attendants were very nice!

A quiet spot with a beautiful view of the lake. Still “wintery” on our trip so the landscape was still dead, but the lots are an excellent distance from other campers, so even though you could still see others, it still felt private. I didn’t like the gate hours of departing / entering. If I needed to leave early in the morning, I couldn’t re enter park until 10:00 am. That was a little inconvenient but I understand that it keeps the park private before the public is allowed to enter for day passes.

Nice campground. Very clean and well kept. The check in closes way too early. Most campers will arrive after 4:30. Showers could have used heaters. The guided hike and archery were enjoyed by our g’kids p. Overall, it was a good place to spend spring break.

This campground met our wishes as far as being close to the city, but still in "the country". It was very quiet and peaceful. Lots of room between sights. We did not have a reservation because at the time we planned, most sites were listed as FF on Recreation.gov. We checked in on a Thursday evening. The person on duty in the office missed the class on hospitality. There was a sign on the office window that said "on rounds, come back later" so we went ahead and started to enter the park to look at possible sights. We were stopped by this person and roundly chewed out, like we were going to steal a site. She then did not understand the computer system and told me our site was already charged to my credit card, and I had not even given her the card. I knew this was wrong, but I decided I would take it up the next day, since she mentioned she would not be on duty through the weekend. Next day we got a loud knock on our door, this time by the camp host wanting to know how we got into our site without registering. He was reasonable but the situation was a bit frustrating. I told my story and agreed to come back to the office to straighten it out. A minute later, the original lady who checked us in showed up asking for check or cash payment for our site. The whole thing was weird. I paid her, but in retrospect, I should have said "meet me at the office." I recommend making a reservation to avoid the snags in the office, however, what complicates that is that many of the sites have utility hookups, especially sewer, in very inconvenient or impossible locations. We went around and made notes on sights that had good hookups. It is nice that they have these campgrounds near the city. Although they are old, they are spacious. We didn't use the bathrooms, but did check them out and they looked nice and clean. They are the type with 4 separate bathrooms in a block. Each has a toilet, sink, and shower.
