Labonia has become one of my favorite Dallas destinations. I was in a motorhome in site 4. The site is on a hill overlooking the lake. The fields were all nicely mowed. This park will provide you with the most beautiful sunsets. All the sites are about 125 feet wide and most sites provide covered picnic tables. Most Army Corps of Engineer parks do not have sewer. Most Lavonia sites provide sewer. The park is close to Lavon and Rockwall, churches, shopping and dining. I camped for 2 weeks at a Senior Pass discount of $15 per night (normal rate $30). Negatives: A lot of very nice sites, but some not level. You will also need to limit electrical usage to 24 amps.

Picturesque campsite, great weather, lovable company and three fish to bring home for cooking. Best weekend almost ever!

You have GOT to repair the road at the exit gate!!! We refused to go out the exit because of potential damage to our 5th wheel jacks, so we waited for the entrance gate to clear of traffic and went out. Other than that, we had a good experience.

We love the full hook ups and the view . We will spend 7-14 days at a time . Its a wonder place to stay , gate folks are nice and helpful always and they keep the place in order when the disorderly dont follow rules and expectations. My husband and I love that we just relax as a teacher we need all the relaxation we can get .

There seem to be several first come first serve sites that are vacant when we get there and are not used while we are there. We are wondering how to get one of those sites. On our recent stay the bathrooms didn’t seem to be as clean as previous times when we stayed there.

I give it 3 stars for the location and nightly cost. It is located on a beautiful lake and the park itself is beautiful with large trees. HOWEVER. Maintenance of the park gets one star. Roads are in much need of maintenance as are many of the sites which are unusable with grass growing through the blacktop. Most sites are extremely sloped. We were there late September and will go again as this park has sewer hookup. Your other option is East Fork a few miles down the road having 50 AMP but no sewer hook ups. East Fork sites are mostly level and are also on a lake.

Lavonia is a convenient park close to Dallas, with good access to the lake. All campsites are spaced far enough apart to allow privacy, have full hookups, and covered picnic tables. Cons: all sites pads are very unlevel and deteriorating. There is sparse shade.
