The camp site was clean and well maintained. I had plenty of shade - which was needed as t was hot. The bathrooms were clean, but some ran out of toilet paper. It was memorial Day weekend and I think some day people used unpopulated camp sites and caused over use. I would say that was my one criticism - that there was no checking up on anyone. There was not even anyone at the gate when I arrived (that's probably due to dodgy doge's illegal firings - so I don't fault the workers for that)

We went camping during May, We had trouble finding spots to put our tent due to them cutting the grass and just leaving the grass there. It was full of spiders my toddler had to be rushed to the hospital from getting bite our entire tent was full of them. The last day we camped the landscapers came back to cut the grass again the men didn’t even let us know what they’re going to cut the grass AGAIN, grass was everywhere in our food just everything. If you decide to camp just call ahead and ask how the campground are.

The site was slanted and the blacktop was old and uneven. The amenities such as the picnic table and overhead were old and rusted. This was compensated for by the beauty of the location and the close proximity to shopping.

Got to the campsite at Sunset on Friday night. It had rained all day and was still sprinkling. The ground was saturated pretty badly and so it was muddy. The Camp hosts were friendly and accommodating. This was my first time there and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It was nice to have showers & restrooms there, but I couldn't get the hot water to work. Maybe it was a user error. Anyway, I would come back, but possibly plan for a little mud.

Amazing experience!

The grounds are nice with plenty of space between sites. The restroom and shower facilities were disappointing. We were there last fall and all four restrooms in loop A were closed for repair so we had to use the restrooms in loop C. This spring we went back to loop A and two of the four restrooms were out of order and the other two restrooms had standing water on the floors because the showers were not draining properly. We had to use loop C restrooms again and only one of two showers was working. Additionally sites 7, 8, 9, and 10 weren't available to reserve.

This campsite has the best shower room in DFW. But it is soooo windy at least in February, you can hardly set up a tent. And I can’t even put out the fire of the coral for BBQ because of the wind.

I will be sending a very in depth description of the worst campsite hosts I have experienced in my 35 years of staying at this lake. The “older” couple that hosts here are liars, narcissistic and the rudest hosts ive ever had to deal with. I would describe them as bullies. I am at a loss as to why they are still work here. They both believe that this is their land and that everyone and everything is out to get them.. I would really recommend a that the other couple that works here be out in charge and the older couple let go, I think it is time someone tells them to retire. Neither one of them are capable or willing to do the job. It’s not right to allow them to bully the citizens of Texas without any accountability. I will be looking into what legal actions I can take to prevent this treatment from happening to anyone else.

Came back for a second tent camping trip. This time closer to the lake. Each camp site has a fire ring and a grill. I’d recommend bringing a camp stove or your own grill, because just like last time, the park grills have seen better days. Some aspects of the park are showing their age, but the bathrooms are always maintained and were stocked with toilet paper both times I stayed here.

It’s very beautiful here great sunsets. The only issue is the roads are terrible. It makes our self level drag a little bit because there’s so many holes especially when we try to leave before they open up the other gate. They need to fix those holes. Put some gravel out there that’s the only issue.
