What Guests Are Saying
Lavonia is praised for its beautiful lake views and peaceful atmosphere, making it a great spot for campers. Many reviews highlight the friendly park hosts and the spaciousness of the sites, which provide a sense of privacy. However, maintenance issues such as overgrown grass, pothole-ridden roads, and inadequate restroom facilities detract from the overall experience, indicating a need for better management and upkeep.

We weren’t able to connect to the sewer at our campsite. Something mechanical with the parks sewer pump not working. There were other sites that did have sewer available though. The park was not busy, so wish we would have been offered a different site. The dump station was also not working, so we were instructed to drain our tanks at one of the empty sites that did have sewer. Shower house was also not functional, so we had to travel to the other end of the park to use a different shower house. It was just an inconvenience.

On our first day i had to notify the ranger that the bathrooms smelled horrible and one of the shower was stopped up. Later the camp-host told us BATHROOMS WERE CLOSED DUE TO SEWER PROBLEMS and for us NOT TO USE THE SEWER HOOK UP.
I asked when would the bath house be able was told MAYBE MONDAY.
We arrived on Thursday- Sunday check out, WITHOUT any shower or toilet facilities !! Horrible experience had to be driving home to shower and driving to area B to use the bathroom VERY INCONVENIENT.
We've been loyal visitors to LAVONIA for over 20 yrs and this was our worst experience. No apologies or reimbursement for all of the inconvenience we had to deal with !!
Ruined our much needed camping weekend trip .

Lavinia park is beautiful, the roads are beyond scary. I was afraid that the road would give away while driving on them. The bathrooms are dated but very clean. The camp hostess was a sweetheart and so welcoming.

We were there for an overnight to attend a memorial service. It was hot and my AC was running but when we arrived back at the site, the AC was not functioning properly. I checked my surge/EMS at the post and it was a problem with the electrical service. We shut it off and opened the windows and luckily it had cooled off. This was site #34

The staff was wonderful. The park is clean and orderly. Also very quiet. The guy that cleans the bathrooms does a wonderful job. Pleas pat him on the back for me. Tell him the compliment is from the long haired hippy looking guy. He really enjoyed my compliments, he really does try hard to do a good job.

Had to go get a mower and mow our own spot. The grass was so high and it always is when we stay there.
