This campground is WALK IN ONLY. This is not evident until you arrive onsite. Check in time was posted as 3pm, but the camp host was not on duty at that time and nobody was available to consult regarding opening gates to drive up to the campsite. The phone at the information board went direct to Recreation.gov, but has an estimated hold time of 52 minutes before somebody might answer the line. Recreation.gov charges $$ in reg fees but does not staff its phone lines.

The toilets were horrendous. They obviously had not been cleaned properly, as the smell was overwhelming. Bring your own toilet paper!

The only running water was very close to the camp host, and we felt like we were intruding on their space when accessing the hose bib.

The place is, in general, nice. However, the lack of showers makes it difficult to stay there more than two days for those for those not traveling in RV. Also there should be someone in charge present in place to give indications, and to whom ask questions.

I was not able to spend the night due to severe thunderstorms. I tried to reschedule, but it was not an option. I will try to go again in a couple of weeks.

Amazing little place for a night camping trip. The bathrooms need some work, they are full and the toilet seat in the men's room is broken.
Other than that it was a great little campsite.

Tejas park was very clean and well maintained. Lots of trails to hike/bike with access to the river. Sites are hike in only, they are all relatively close to the designated parking, making it easy to get your gear to the site.

Best campsite I've ever visited by far. Their sites are clean, and when out here you feel completely embedded in nature. Very quiet and clean weather. Some spots are close to the parking lot which provides easy access to your car which is nice. People are very friendly as well
