The campground was really beautiful with large, private sites. I liked that we had to walk a short distance to the sites, because it was nice not having cars drive by our tent. The hiking around the lake was nice, and it was an easy drive into town. We would stay here again if we were in the area

Great place to stay for a few nights with hiking, biking, fishing, and general outdoors fun. Quiet, relaxing, and a tremendous effort by the host to take care of and improve the camp. Bathrooms could use some work though.

The campsite is a nice space with trees to cover from the wind.
The firepit has a good size too.
The group campout ground could use a shelter upgrade.
The one criticism I have is that the bathroom was rather smelly.
Then again, given the price, it's a fantastic value for money.

I am writing this review after staying here about 10 nights over a two year period. I will always have a soft spot for Tejas Park due to its proximity to Austin and the $6 per night cost. The sites are very basic - tent only without any water or electric at the tent site. There is a drinking water fountain/spigot rather near the parking area. No fancy bath house, just a very rustic composting toilet. Again, for the cost, I feel that’s fair. I have never had a single problem with anyone here. People seem to be happy to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Note, it does get super super busy on weekends, year round. In summer I suggest you book in advance. The park is always well maintained and free of trash.

I stayed at site 1 this weekend. Very clean and pretty private. Lots of space. Saturday mornings get pretty busy and this site is adjacent to the road. So quite a bit of traffic comes and goes. Great river access here.

This camp is so well maintained. The camp host always takes time to wave or say hello. You can chose trails for hiking, swimming and fishing. I'll be back!
