What Guests Are Saying
Sanders Cove is a beautiful and quiet campground with large, clean campsites and friendly staff, making it a great choice for relaxation and family gatherings. Many visitors appreciated the scenic views, well-marked trails, and the overall cleanliness of the park. However, the facilities, particularly the restrooms and showers, require significant maintenance and updates to enhance the camping experience.

This is a nice shade campground in a least in the B-section! There was a swimming area but barely no sand edge and exposed tree roots that were easy to trip on, and no bathroom close by. A few things I found were a disadvantage was no dumpsters for campers trash in the camping area (saw a few small trash cans in the swimming area only). No flush toilets or shower in the B campground area. Sites close and randomly placed, with some hard top pads, some gravel and some dirt with grass. Enforcement of no alcohol consumption was nonexistent! Most all the other campers and in swimming area were openly drinking the 4 full day we were there.

Enjoyed very much and give great credit for park rangers controlling restless of people's of unrest ! The park was very well maintained! However , feel that phasing out gate attendants is a very detrimental mistake !

For such a large campground, there was only one very outdated shower house near the entrance and beside the dump station. There was one dump station for campground. Campground B is the only area with 50 Amp even though recreation.gov filter shows many 50 amp campsites in A and C. I told the campground and recreation.gov about the filter inaccuracies but did not get the impression anything will be corrected. Camp area B has a small beach. Signs at the beach indicate no alcohol allowed but lots of beer boxes and trash left behind. We visited in June on a weekend and cars/motorcycles came through continuously heading to the beach and/or site seeing . Site B4 base is concrete and almost level (used one pad on driver side) and had partial shade. Very little shade in the afternoon in June. No view of water but a decent amount of space from outer loop road and next site B6, unfortunately site B3 was a bit too close.

It would be nice to join the modern world and have flush toilets, an a warm shower @ each loop.
I could quickly forget the aroma of outhouses!
They could be located 200 yards from lake. I come back to this lake for the clear water in the summer ,if you prefer brown water ,go to hugo lake.

Beautiful park, gorgeous lake. Rangers were extremely helpful. This was the first time we stayed at a COE park and will definitely do so again. . . With an inflatable boat.
