What Guests Are Saying
Rocky Creek Park at Lake Somerville is a well-maintained campground featuring beautiful lake views from every site, spacious areas for camping, and a peaceful environment perfect for relaxation. The staff is friendly and the facilities, including the RV dump station, are well-kept, making it a great destination for nature lovers. While some visitors noted issues with the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the presence of sticker burrs, the overall experience is highly positive, with many guests eager to return.

Last solo camping trip of 2023 was short but sweet (13 hours). Stayed at Rocky Creek Park (COE Park) on Somerville Lake at site #171. It was a perfect site for SUV camping with a gorgeous view! Arrived after hours, around 9pm but had the gate code in my reservation. The site was easy to find and easy to get setup in. The next morning held chilly, yet clear and sunny conditions. The lake is significantly low, as all of Texas water sources are, but no less beautiful! Bathrooms were clean with plenty of TP, but was a little dark due to some lights not working. I highly recommend this park!

Great trip, great park. Wish they would open up the closed portion of the park that have been revamped. Can’t wait!

Great park and friendly staff. We always enjoy watching the deer running around.

They have a beautiful sunset at night. The sites are kept pretty clean but it was very disappointing to have the better sites, with the picnic table cover, closed.
The restrooms were not attended to in the tent area. When we got up the second day there was no paper in the stalls. By mid afternoon they still had not cleaned them and replaced the paper. I had to tell the host but he seemed pretty out of it and did finally put some in the restrooms later in the early evening.
The beach had too much trash. Not a whole lot but considering the host didn't seem to be doing too much and was pretty young he could have spent his time cleaning up the beach.

We will be back. The lake was beautiful. Only one thing to note. We have dogs. Be mindful that there are cockleburs/or some variation, in the grass and gravel. One should take off their shoes prior to going into an RV.

Friendly, efficient check-in, spacious sites. But get your dog booties ready! There were so many sticker burrs everywhere that it was a ten minute ordeal to de-burr the dogs' paws, faces, etc. after every walk. Our dogs have longer hair so it was especially bad. The park was pleasant and had some nice trails that we were not able to take advantage of--but next time, we will come with boots for the dogs!

The previous page did not allow me to select any stars. I would give our experience 5 Stars.
The campsites were clean and free of weeds, trash and insects. The amenities were in good working order and the staff at the gate were very friendly.
