About Cedar Ridge (TX)

Cedar Ridge Park campground is located on the Northern side of Belton Lake. This year-round campground accommodates both tents and RVs and has several sites with screened shelters for those who do not have camping equipment. This family friendly park provides many amenities, including water-bourne restrooms with sinks, flush toilets, and showers, group picnic areas, and a concession marina within the park offers fuel and basic convenience store items, as well as a seasonal restaurant. Belton Lake was created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with the construction of Belton Dam in 1954. The 12,300-acre lake is located on the Leon River, just upstream of the confluence of the Leon River and the Little River. Belton Lake is a long, narrow and winding lake with many curves and coves, providing some of the best camping, fishing, and boating in Central Texas.

An excellent campground with daily visits from the wildlife. All systems worked well. The only criticism is that low trees in the campground section and along the roads are a hazard with a large coach.

We normally stop here on our way out of town and on the way back home. It’s a great park and reminds us of home with the deer roaming. Family friendly resort. The price is right too!

shutting down the best side of the park for the winter is frustrating as well as the laundry facility is still not repaired and available to patrons.

The new LED lighting installed in the restrooms is very much appreciated. Care must be taken when taking walks on the park road opposite Loop 4, toward the Turkey Roost group camp, marina, and boat ramp. People going to and from the boat ramp and marina sometimes drive WAY too fast on this road (40 MPH or more), and there is a blind curve just past the entrance gate to loop 4. On this outing, every time someone dumped their tanks at the dump station at loop 4, sewage ran out on top of the ground near the road, which was behind our campsite (loop 4, site 45). If the wind was from the north, the smell was overpowering at our campsite. This is a very pretty park, and we love watching the deer and turkeys that roam the park. We always have an enjoyable stay. The paving is good and parking is not usually a problem. The restroom on loop 4 really should have more stalls for both men and women. When the camping loop is full, there may be a wait to use it.
