We have camped at this park many times over the years and it has always been nice. Always been well taken care of. This time however not so much. Grass was almost knee high (we like others mowed our own spots), bathrooms filthy, trash left by previous campers ( which is on terrible guest but never had that problem before) dump station and as closed half the the time we was there but was finally repaired and opened. We was never told about that situation ahead of time or even when checking in. The gate attendant was polite and friendly as usual. The park attendants was always friendly but they seem to pick and choose who they make follow rules. We had one small truck parked off the side of the street and was told to move it. No big deal but evidently no issue for another group that had roughly 9 to 10 cars parked on the side along the main curve in the park. ( enforce all or none ). The park is still beautiful location and full of deer though. I’m hoping this was a one time thing and the corp of engineers find good contractors for the up keep.

The park is always nice and the lake was perfect. Our campsite was perfectly maintained. But there was no waste disposal. The dump station was down and we camped for 4 days. Our tanks were full and we couldn’t use our camper. We had to take it home to dump. Very disappointed.

We stayed at # 10. Limited lake view. Level site covered picnic table, little bit of shade, Gate attendant was courteous and friendly, abundance of deer and wildlife in site. Really needed mowed bad. Some campers down from us brought their own lawn mower. The last day we were there the mowing crew came through. Overall, not a bad site.

Lady at the gate checkin was super nice and friendly. Site was nice - right on the water. Plenty of room for our trailer. I didn’t check out the restrooms. One thing is the grass was really high and I kind of worried about snakes after reading other reviews. Dump station had some issues so we didn’t use. Other than that/ really nice campground and we got to see lots of birds and deer. Would definitely return!

Personnel very welcoming and engaging. Power was bad at our site (only one available when booking). Has to run 30amp overnight. Maintenance guys there at 8 AM! Replaced 50a breaker after determining the circuit interrupter box connector for breaker was over heated and oxidized. They quickly resolved! Very kind.. the grass was so long some campers brought their own lawn mower… lastly, if you have an Airstream or other low riding rig, you cannot dump your tanks.. the “new” dump station was built improperly and hasnt been resolved for a couple years..

I recently had 2 visits to this park. Both within the same week. And I used 2 separate campsites with 3 separate reservations, haha!
The wildlife is abundant at this park. There are deer everywhere - so drive in slowly. I also saw toads, frogs, armadillos, water snakes, and more. We caught and saw a ton of fish too. The gar were breeding in the shallows, so they were everywhere splashing. My wife and I caught stripers, catfish, and some unusually large perch. Its a recreational lake but the fishing was pretty good.
The camp grounds restrooms/showers are pretty clean. Most of the camp sites here are for RVs, so you won't be waiting to take a shower or use the restroom.
There's a boat ramp in the park with multiple lanes. There's plenty of swimming areas. There's gas stations and small stores nearby. Larger stores are within a 15 minute drive.

Camp was well maintained and the park employees were friendly and helpful. The grass surrownding our site was in need of mowing as it was at a minimum of 10 inches tall.
