East Fork Texas is run by the Army Corp of Engineers. It reflects poorly on this department of the service.
The road to and through the park is in severe need of maintenance. The potholes are so large that vehicles have been damaged trying to drive through the park. The campsites are most have not received the necessary maintenance. Fire grills are rusted, broken and lying on the ground. Shelters are leaking and picnic tables are unsafe to sit on.
This would be a lovely place if the funds could be freed for maintenance.
As it is now it is hardly worth the $30.00/night fee that is charged.

Great park when considering that it is located in a major metropolitan area and yet still has a rural-lake feel.
Level sites, good power.
A nice COE campground.

Our stay at East Fork Park was a great. We did have to move after a week of stay because our water faucet was leaking and making a big pool of water but they were very helpful in getting us a good space and even unhooking our water because we didn't have boots, so we didn't have to walk in the 3 or 4 inch puddle around the faucet. We were able to get plenty of TV off of our antenna. We did not have sewer but other than that we had everything we needed. They do need road work done both entering and inside the park. They have large pot holes that you just can avoid. Their volunteer staff are great and very friendly.

Sites are spaced sparsely so it feels vey private. The pads are very close to level side to side, front to back so it was very easy getting in. Electrical and water hookups in great condition. The roads are very bad however. Since there is no sewer hook up, dragging our portable to the dump was very difficult over all the potholes. The Park folks were so nice and very apologetic over the road conditions which were clearly out of their control. Nice view of the lake, although were there during a very cold spell, we'd bet it's fantastic in the summer!

Nice campground, roads in and around the campground are really bad. Hosts are very friendly. No entry except on foot after 10:00 pm.

We camped here at the start of the first "Artic Blast" in November 2019 so we were caught off-guard. Our on-board waterpump failed and our insulated (outdoor) water hose froze. There was only 1 public restroom unit open, but we were able to take care of business as needed. There were at least a dozen RVs camping in the park, but no one was on the lake due to the high winds and temperatures. Outdoor activities were limited due to the same. We has a spacious, level site with picnic table and BBQ pit, which I did cook on once. The attendant and Ranger were friendly and helpful. The park is close to a Randall's (grocery) and WalMart. We could easily access highways and toll roads to visit relatives in the area. We would stay here again.
